The cult figure in the field of teaching Acting in India, Shri Roshan Taneja has just completed 45 years of non-stop nurturing of talent. And in his 45th year, he is coming out with renewed vigour to offer a never-before package of training in the art. For this, he has launched the Roshan Taneja Foundation for Performing Arts.
Elaborating on the need and urgency of such a package, he says, ‘The demand for trained actors in tremendous, today what with the phenomenal growth of Television and Films. And that’s how we have devised this new course that is most painstakingly aimed at the all round development of the actor in training.’
Who can know that better than him? His students have registered a ratio of success as high as 55% and from the new crop like Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Tushar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi to veterans like Subhash Ghai, Shatrughan Sinha, Jaya Bachchan, Danny Denzongpa, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Tabu, Gulshan Grover, to name a few, have been the proud Roshan Taneja products who have carved out a niche for themselves in Films & TV, today.
According to Shashi Ranjan, producer/director, Convenor of The ITA and Publisher of GR8! TV Mag and today, a collaborator in the venture, ‘The Foundation would be an opportunity of a lifetime for aspiring actors to groom themselves to over-all perfection. For instance, besides learning Acting, speech, diction etc., they would be provided with opportunities to achieve a perfect 10 on their bodies & fitness as well.’
