Acting

Fundamental training of the actor as a 'dramatic instrument'. Course content includes: Exercises in basic activity, Concentration, Imagination - applied individually and in groups, Improvisations, Scene Studies, Interpretation and Characterization.

Advance techniques such as Variations on Themes, Sense Memory and Subjective Study, Marks and Memory, and Memorizing on the Spot are taught to prepare students for practical problems encountered while working in the film industry.

Shooting

 

Movement

Using the body as a dynamic instrument. Original dances by students based upon subjective feeling for the music assigned. Application for dramatic content to original studies.

 

Voice

Training in effective habits of the speaking voice.

 

Diction &  Speech

Problems of oral interpretation. Removing of any coloration of accents in one's speech from regional influences for clear and chaste pronunciation.Diction Recording

 

Practical

Periodic video shooting of scenes and improvisations prepared by students, on Camera, which is useful for analysis of performances and is a showcase for the student.

 

Allied Courses

Dance and Fight methods will be taught separately by guest instructors (included in fees) in the latter half of the course. This course is offered to students as the above seem to be a prerequisite for any actor aspiring to enter the Indian Film Industry.

 

Film Appreciation

Study of world cinema in a two day workshop at the National Films Archive of India (NFAI), Pune. Quality Indian and International films will be showcased as a Film Study & Critique for the student actor. The floor is then open for a group discussion between instructors and students to help them gain a better understanding of all elements of cinema.

 

Guest Lecturers

Well known Film & TV Personalities are invited periodically to lecture students on subjects dealing with the practical aspects of being an actor.
